The Neo Mask Project – $33,000

In March of 2020, at the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Neo Mask project was started by our Grandma Neo, who is the name sake and inspiration for the Neo Mask project. As an immigrant from Vietnam, she worked as a seamstress to raise her 4 children while also caring for her husband, who required significant medical attention after a tragic accident left him a quadriplegic. When it became clear that there was a need for face masks, she dusted off her industrial Juki sewing machine to help her community. Working tirelessly, for over 9 months, she raised $33,000 which was donated to our local food banks and other nonprofits to help alleviate the economic pressures caused by the pandemic.

Lauryn’s Big Drive – $21,421

Through the AJGA Leadership Links program, Lauryn secured pledges for the number of birdies she recorded during her 2018 and 2019 golf tournament rounds. She raised an impressive $21,421 through this initiative, with funds benefiting The First Tee of Greater Seattle, the AJGA ACE Grant and the Jack Nicklaus Children’s Health Foundation.

Highline Foundation Scholarship Fund – $10,000

Duc Foundation partnered with the Highline Foundation to offer scholarships to graduating Evergreen High School seniors. Đức Foundation has contributed $10,000 to the Severson Leadership Scholarship Fund which was established by our family to honor Mrs. Laura Jo Severson. Through the love and support from Mrs. Severson, a counselor at EHS, our mom was able to graduate from high school with honors even after our grandfather’s tragic accident.

Grandma Neo’s Pho-Raiser for West Seattle HS Athletics – $4,000

There’s nothing better than a bowl of grandma’s made-from-scratch PHỞ beef noodle soup! Our family organized a restaurant-style pop-up dinner event at our house, serving our grandma famous, home-cooked pho. Our parents donated the cost of the food and supplies so that 100% of the proceeds went directly to support the West Seattle Booster Club, benefiting West Seattle HS athletics.
